What is Medicinal Chemistry 2 about?

In general, Medicinal Chemistry 2 is a continuation of the system we started in Medicinal Chemistry 1. 

 It involves a specific system along with its associated drugs and mechanisms of action. Honestly, this course covers a considerable number of topics and medications. 

Here's a breakdown: 

1. We begin with the Cardiovascular System (CVS), focusing on drugs for hypertension (HTN) in all its forms. Then, we move on to discussing medications for Hyperlipidemia This part is typically covered in Pharmacology 2 alongside Medicinal Chemistry 2 

2. Next, we delve into medications for Diabetes Mellitus (DM), followed by Antihistamines, opioids, proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), and analgesics. These topics are often part of the second-year curriculum. 

3. The last two topics, Steroids and Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), are typically covered for the final material.
